I retired nearly 10 years ago and only had a small personal pension,I needed advice of how I could make this work for me. I received a one to one meeting and found straight away that the adviser (Debbie) spoke in a way I could understand each of the investment plans. I have always received an annual meeting so I am able to ask questions regarding my finances as I’ve inherited from my parents and more recently lost my husband. During these meetings the advisors show a good understanding of my finances and have often been ready with further investment ideas before I ask.

Adam finds alternative investment schemes for me to consider before our meetings. These schemes provide better interest rates and therefore benefit my small pension.

In the first few years I was so surprised by the increase my savings had made. I was warned that savings could increase but also decreased because of the state of stocks and shares. When Covid made great changes in the world and countries finances I was advised not to rush into making changes to my investments. The total of my savings has changed but with good advice things are looking good again.

About eight years ago, we were looking for a financial advisor who could help us plan for our retirement. After some initial research we spoke with Penlife. We liked that they discussed finance in plain English and took time to the time to understand us and our goals.

Adam has been our advisor for the last three years. He has been extremely helpful in keeping us informed about our pension investments and helping us understand the options for income drawdown, annuities etc. If we don't understand something, we only have to say. I retired 2 years ago and I wanted an advisor who I felt I could trust and also 1 who was interested in me as well as in my investment. Adam's colleague Deborah was my first advisor but Adam has been involved with me and my finances from the start - first as an assistant and now as my main advisor. The transition has been seamless and issue free.
