What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

In the early stages of our relationship, my partner and I decided to combine our finances. In order to do this, it was clear that we needed some unbiased, but informed advice, especially as our approaches to spending/saving were poles apart!! Mark was recommended to us by a mutual friend.

How has Mark Fisher helped you?

Mark, and the software Ardent use, helped us to visualise a wide number of life-scenarios, including early retirement, house purchase, financial crash, ill health, etc. He has also provided ad hoc advice regarding changes in the tax system, and investment options.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Our finances were always going to be fairly sound with or without the advice of an IFA, but Mark's input is often most useful when he challenges our preconceived ideas about growth, spending and long-term needs. Because he spends a lot of time getting to understand our needs and aspirations, his questions are always insightful and thought provoking, which allows us to come to decisions that we would not necessarily have otherwise come to.

My health has been my priority this year due to having my hips replaced. I have recovered well and knowing my finances are being looked after was one less thing for me to be concerned about. Being able to look online at my investments is very reassuring, I haven’t felt the need for any financial advice recently but know Mark or a member of his staff are always there to help.
