Wanted to have a plan in place for retirement that involved increasing my pension value, do i need to put more money into my pension, do i need to build up ISA's, saving etc.

How has Kelly Shek helped you?

We reviewed my current pension & savings etc and forecast how this would look like at age 60 when id prefer to retire. From this we were able to determine my current pension contributions would be sufficient but I should put money into a new stocks and shares ISA to supplement the pension tax free.

I find financial matters complex and outwith my current skillsets. I believe in getting professional help for specialist matters.

Kelly has advised on a number of financial matters. These have included pensions, investments and salary sacrifice advice. She has also spearheaded the change over from my previous financial advisor to ABB who bought out my previous FA due to retirements by the owner. Kelly has made the whole transition process simple, transparent and worry free.

Yes, I have had hoped for outcomes so far and I have no reason to doubt this will continue into the future

Very much so, i had previous engagement with Kelly via Mathieson Financial but lost contact after Thornton's acquired them.

I doubt Kelly could have done anything better in the short period i have been under the AAB banner. Martyn Patterson and Kelly have completely restored my confidence in financial planning.

Due to retirement and the selling of the business, the financial adviser I was with for many years transferred my portfolio to AAB. This is where I was introduced to Kelly who has now become my financial adviser.

Kelly has been very thorough in going through my portfolio in great detail. Suggesting and implementing agreed changes. Kelly has a very pleasant manner and has shown great patience going through all the details and the options available to me. Communications have been very clear, easy to understand and timely.

I initially contacted AAB in 2021 about financial planning leading up to retirement.

Provided all the requested information and answered all my queries (some of which were repetitive and involved...)

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

So far yes. All finances reviewed and most investments (some pensions and all ISAs) conslidated onto the abrdn platform. Too early to say whether the expected investment performance will exceed the slightly higher fees but I am hopeful it will based on my experience with AAB and Kelly so far.

What could they have done better?

Some of the fund performance illustrations were a bit confusing as different funds used different rates and some included fees and inflation and others don't. This isn't Kellys fault but it took a while to work through. I would like to see comparisons and projections using the same figures - preferably with fees and charges and inflation all accounted for.
