What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We wanted to understand our financial position, as planning for reducing hours and retirement.

How has Luke James helped you?

Luke worked with us to develop a clear financial plan, which gave so much clarity on our position and meant we could make decisions about work. He really takes time to understand our needs. He’s really down to earth, very knowledgeable and clear speaking.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Most definitely. We have regular reviews with Luke, and he’s on hand any time to work with us.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Perfect service.

Decided to transfer out of my work pension and Lucent financial planning were recommended by a colleague

How has Luke James helped you?

Luke is very down to earth, easy to talk and fully understands our needs, always made very welcome by everyone in the office. Over the past 4 years since taking early retirement we have lived a life that we never could have lived if I had left my workplace pension in place. We have been given advice from my mums estate which has helped us to minimise the amount of tax we pay. We always get clear info on how are investments are performing, overall we are extremely happy with everything Luke has done for us. After years of being careful with money Luke has encouraged us to spend and enjoy our retired life.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome, finances are in better shape now than we were working. The future looks very good.

What could they have done better?

Since things have gone so well I can't think of anything more he could have done, Luke or Lucent.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I recognised that, although I have a reasonable grasp of financial matters, I needed expert help.

How has Luke James helped you?

Luke took over from Kelly Cherry as our advisor when Kelly left to set up her own business. Luke is very switched on and knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He has been most informative and helpful at all the meetings we have had. Luke also identified a an issue relating to CGT that emerged as a consequence of moving existing investments over to Fundment. As this was not an issue I was aware of, he arranged a mechanism by which I was no worse off - which was much appreciated.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

See above re. CGT issue. Investments seem to be performing well (although this is really a long-term matter).

What could they have done better?

Can't think of anything.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was unhappy with the general lack of advice that I was receiving from my previous IFA and when I did have a meeting I was not happy with the quality and content of the meetings.

How has Luke James helped you?

Luke has been friendly and professional in helping me to review my financial situation and how to the make the best of it for the future.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

It is still early days, but all of my dealings with Luke and Lucent have been positive and I am sure that this will continue and feel more than comfortable with the advice I have received so far and am confident that the outcomes will be as expected over the coming years.

What could they have done better?

So far nothing, but I will of course keep checking for improvement opportunities
