We wanted to understand our options in retirement better; in particular what the trade off is in terms of retiring earlier but having less income or retiring later with more income. We were also looking for a reasonable return on ISA savings that we have and wanted to see options a bit broader than the high street banks.

Aaron has been a big help not only in the technical bits about income levels and tax etc but also in making sure we consider the full benefits of retiring earlier with all the things about enjoying life while you're healthy etc. I hadn't really expected to have this kind of discussion but its as useful as the factual stuff.

Not sure there is anything in particular although maybe a more regular phone call update to check in would be good in cementing the long term nature of these relationships. It is after all quite a long gap if you only speak once a year on a formal review.
