When my mother moved into an Old People's Home he gave advice on buying an annuity and investing the remainder of her savings under one investment umbrella. On her death in 2020 James' management of the funds of her estate made my job as executor much easier and enabled the estate to pass on generous legacies to all beneficiaries of the will. My wife and I were beneficiaries and we have moved all our savings into one diversified investment fund following James' advice and guidance. We have regular reviews with him to check on progress and we have recently moved our investments to a different umbrella in order to incur lower fees. We are also in the process of transferring to a slightly different risk band on James' advice in the light of recent economic developments.

More or less. I picked a terrible time to retire- the Ukraine war and general market fluctuations have been unforeseen but we have worked to minmise the affects on my portfolio and whilst the growth hasn't been as I expected neither have the losses.

James has been completely honest about what he can do to manage my portfolio and he cannot beat the market- anyone who said they could would not get my business. He has helped us to weather the unfavourable conditions and the best way possible and I have absolutely no complaints. He responds quickly to queries and deeper queries can be managed on an appointment basis, again, in a prompt manner.

I'm due to receive a substantial (to me) inheritance from my father this year. As I don't understand much of what's involved in financial planning or handling investments, let alone in planning for my own children's inheritance, I decided it would be a false economy not to seek the help of a financial advisor. Choosing James was no difficulty at all: of the several advisors I approached he was the most affable, the most attentive listener and the most imaginative (something I wasn't expecting in someone from the financial world); in fact, when I simply couldn't understand part of the potential set-up he was describing he took out his large notebook and drew it for me! -the illustration made immediate sense and I was reassured. I'm a very recent client of his so have little to report yet as to how things are going but I do feel a certain trust in James having his clients' interests at heart.

As the current government has been implementing changes over the past two years James has been sending out back up documents and offers for 1 to 1 discussion. We chat at great length annually and he reminds us that he is always available if I need advice. I do feel safe with James looking after my financial interests.

I am 61 years of age, retirement is on the horizon and I was very aware that I have not planned for it. I had six pension schemes from past and current employers and a cash ISA. I wasn't sure that they were offering me the best future prospects.

I didn't feel he was trying to push me into an investment I didn't want. I was given time to process what was being said and James was happy to recap if I needed. In turbulent times James has been sending me documents underlining that in abnormal circumstances the financial products I have, (which are medium to long term) are robust and that history should reflect this in time. James is an experienced advisor who knows me well and the risks that I can tolerate. This has been proven true this year as shocks to the markets are recovering. Any concerns that I may have are supported by the fact that James continues to offer 1 to 1 advice if I have any worries and no matter how small. Just knowing that James is there and active in the background offers a low risk client like me “in retirement” time to just enjoy life knowing that he has his finger on the financial pulse. I feel lucky to be supported by him.

I was lucky enough to have some money sitting in my bank doing nothing so I decided I needed help to use it to see if I could retire at 60 (I have 8 years to go).

James listens to your priorities and goals and comes up with creative solutions to meet these aims. He is realistic and makes sure you still have money for life and emergency expenses. He also makes sure the things he suggests are in line with a level of risk that you are comfortable with.

So far so good. My money was moved over at the start of lockdown which I thought might be a terrible thing to do but I am up 18% so far which clearly beats the 0.01% the bank was giving me.

I am looking at retirement from my current job and I have pensions that I can draw on. I wanted financial advise regarding my pension income and what I could do to continue my current life style without my current salary coming in.
