What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

On retirement many years ago I had funds to invest. Nelson was recommended to me and they subsequently became Close Bros. Ian is the most recent Clos Bros advisor to monitor my investments.

Annual reviews including recommending small changes to my investments. Re-assurance of investment strategy plus education/clarification on some specific and specialist investment issues

Yes

What could they have done better?

Although I would like a cheaper service I am realistic and essentially content

I started planning for my retirement since I was 40 years old and needed good advice.

Ian is a pension specialist and provided good financial planning.

So far yes, my retirement plans are on track.

What could they have done better?

I lost some equity returns with the covid19 crisis so far, but it has been mitigated through good advice. I wish this crisis could have been anticipated better.

We have been with Close Brothers for over 20 years and always had a helpful manager. Now with “lockdown” things are very sad, but we have had help from Ian Murphy who is our present manager and we are very happy with him.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

We have been investing with Close Brothers for a considerable time now; at this current time when a Global Epidemic has affected Global Markets we remain confident that we will receive, timely and appropriate advice when necessary.

How has Ian Murphy helped you?

We trust, by providing sound investment advice commensurate with prevailing market conditions. Generally our investments have increased year on year in 'numbers', but whether this increase has bettered that of inflation is another issue, so far returns are better than those we might have achieved in Bank Deposit savings.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Our outcome is to achieve a better return than that offered and achieved by High Street Banks.

What could they have done better?

We are not expert in the the field of comparing the relative merits of Finance Company's performances. The introduction to Close Brother came via a Civil Service seminar for Retirees that we judged was a "tacit approval" of your company.

I have invested through Close for about 20 years, and Ian has handled my portfolio well

He has discussed and understood what my attitude to rick is, and has guided me on the decisions I have made
