I had a useful exploratory chat with Mark , exploring how Mark could help with my current plans, a knowledgeable advisor who provided a useful appraisal of my situation

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Primarily INHERITANCE. We only recently realised that people without children get far less inheritance allowance and wanted to plan for this.

How has Mark Sekree helped you?

Mark transferred our existing funds set up with his father many years ago. The new funds address our current needs

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

If we live for 2 years minimum (required under the current rule) after setting up the funds then we should achieve our goals.

What could they have done better?

Nothing we know of. I don't doubt Mark's knowledge as his father is a similar age to us. As his father originally set up athe business, Mark will be on top of this area f business as well as investments for younger people.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was about 15 years off retirement and while I had pension savings at the time, I had spent little time actively managing this. I needed someone who had the knowledge to use the 15 years wisely to grow the fund within the constraints of the risks I was prepared to take.

I have benefited from Mark Sekree's wisdom and intellect in choosing a range of funds, (most of which I would never have considered without his expertise) and from his sensitivity in ensuring that I am comfortable with the level of risk. What stands out is his very personal approach. The level of service is outstanding; Mark knows my situation well, and is always keen to explain or help in any way that he can. I feel fortunate to have access to a person (not a company), with the knowledge that Mark has.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Absolutely. The growth that my pension savings have seen over this period of time has been very good - well above that which I would have seen from the run-of-the-mill funds that I would have used, or that would have been the default fund in my company's pension scheme. In addition, I had not banked on the benefits that Mark will bring to me in helping me through the financial maze of retirement itself and in maximizing my income beyond that.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. I have received more than I thought I would get.

Wanting to ensure I understood the range of options for savings/investments and would gain the optimum return for my lifestyle and aspirations for the future.

By reviewing my financial and lifestyle position in detail. By understanding my attitude to risk at different stages of my life/career and making recommendations on investment strategy. We have regular reviews and Mark is always available in-between these if required.

Yes, my portfolio has performed impressively over many years with Mark and 3S financial services including during the pandemic.

I was approaching retirement and was extremely fortunate to be aware of Mark and the financial services that he provided.

Mark organised the transfer of my Defined Contribution Pension to a drawdown arrangement and gave extremely good advice on how the fund should be invested.

Absolutely! The performance of my fund has exceeded all my expectations.

Questions about my own pension and that of my elderly father's.

Mark really took the time to get to know me and my circumstances, and also that of my father. He then advised some changes to pensions and investments in order to spread and balance risk and reward, to meet the needs of me and my family.

Yes, very much so.

What could they have done better?

I'm not sure - I was very happy with Mark and the service he provided (and continues to provide). Even during lockdown we touched base over Zoom, and he made phone calls and emails to reassure me when global markets took a dip because of the pandemic.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I had a surplus of money that I could afford to invest in more risky, but hopefully, more rewarding assets after retirement.

Having carefully ensured that I had an adequate amount of financial assets in safe investments, Mark arranged with my approval at all stages, a portfolio of high tech investments that I was very keen to involve myself in. I am a bit of a high-tech nut but my personal investment decisions have rarely paid off.

I an quite stunned by the improvements in my portfolio over the time since I invested. I seem to be doing twice as well as any of my chums.

What could they have done better?

I can not actually think of any thing. Mark even responds to my odd questions, and I mean odd, about tax etc with clear answers and does not even laugh.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed a reliable financial advisor to help me in all aspects of my finances when my husband died and as my husband had trusted and used Mark's father Owen, Mark was the obvious choice.

I found it really easy investing through EZ ISA with Mark's help. I'm now saving monthly into my EZ ISA account and it's good to know that I'm taking advantage of this tax break. It is also good to know that people are actively managing my money without me having to worry about it and I've been very pleased with the returns. I get regular statements about my investments and feel I can contact Mark whenever but I'm not bombarded by marketing or sales calls. Highly recommended, particularly the EZ-ISA investment means. Very responsive, and sharp to act with investments even when online accessibility to certain products changes - he has unwaveringly taken on the onerous task of completing regular personal investments without blinking. Very personable approach but not invasive. Very competitive VFM, but more importantly just exceptionally easy investment - I would say even easier in many ways than putting money into a standard savings account.

Very personable and clearly understands his customers needs and requirements e.g. when I was evaluating the merits of high vs. lower risk investments his advice was spot on and aligned with my longer term needs

At the moment I only use one service of Marks (investments); other than that I haven't really investigated what else I could or should be doing with my money or financial future. Whilst possibly a good thing (as I wouldn't want him constantly trying to sell me services!), I'm sure there's other things we could be discussing that I could/should do with my money

Asks lots of questions to understand client plans and risk appetite. Answers all my daft questions promptly and with patience. Has a thorough knowledge of a vast array of investment vehicles.

What could they have done better?

Since moving from a fixed office location face to face meetings can be more difficult to organise but with modern communications this really is a very minor issue and I only mention this as I canÂ’t think of any other negatives.

I have worked with Mark for approximately three years now and highly recommed him. Mark is an exceptionally knowledgable adviser with some great ideas and suggestions. He takes the time required to really appreciate what is important to his clients to ensure that the investments suggested are appropriate and effective.

All his advice has been top notch and allowed me to fully appreciate the risks and opportunities involved.
