I don’t think Ed could have done anything better, he has been very professional, always available and helpful. The investment itself has not been as good as I was led to believe at inception but that was nothing to do with Ed. My contact at that time was Mike Baggely.

As I was approaching retirement I want to ensure I had plans in place to provide pension income for the next 30+ years. I also wanted to look at ways for my savings to grow to provide additional income and security.

How has Edward Tudor helped you?

Ed took me through the various investment opportunities, the potential growth of each and the risk levels involved with them. From this I was able to select appropriate investment vehicles to tie in with my short/long term goals. We have an annual review to look at performance and discuss the strategy and tweak it if necessary. However, he is easy to contact and resp[onds quickly to any questions or concerns outside of the review.

I now have a portfolio in place, with funds split according to short/long term goals and risk levels. As these are linked to stock market performance, events such as Covid, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and Global Inflation have impacted growth levels, but I believe the investments have still performance better than if they were just saved in a bank/building society.

What could they have done better?

Ed has done pretty much what I was expecting. The only small thing could be a Quarterly or Bi-Annual review to look at which investments vae performed well, and which haven't, so as to make tweaks at that point, as annual reviews can seem a long time.

I chose a financial advisor to help me with ensuring that as I approached retirement, I had the best long term growth options to ensure my financial needs are met in older age. I wanted someone who has the necessary skills and could view the whole market vs a tied in agent to one institution.

Ed helped considerably with my retirement phase, ensuring that what was being offered to me made sense, was the best option to maximise tax breaks and would help to protect me long term goals of sufficient financial assets in later life. Ed also went directly to the pension fund (with my permission), so he could fully understand the specific intricacies of the fund, ensuring we both understood the best options for use of the pension.

It is hard to judge based on 30 minutes with a blank wall as a backdrop. Ed seemed competent but I had no idea who The Private Office were (having initially made an inquiry through "Unbiased" just 48 hours earlier and rec'd a Teams Invite as a response to it) . I would have been more at ease had I known more about the firm (and Ed) before we spoke

Ed is very good at explaining both the background of the current financial market scene, and why that impacts on our investment. He was able to advise my wife Heather on an investment strategy for some additional funds she has available

No. Everything has dropped since retirement

Ed could not change the markets however good he is. You could reduce your charges. Performance related to some extent.

Ed called spot on time and was polite and professional. My situation had moved on since i had raised my call and I was very upfront informing Ed of this and although this meant no immediate business was coming his way he continued to be helpful and offer advice. He provided me with his contact details, as agreed, so I could get back to him if my situation changed again.
