I am a Financial Planner helping clients in Hitchin & surrounding areas to achieve their financial and lifestyle goals. Together with my business partner, Helena Wardle, I run Smith and Wardle Financial Planning. A bit more about me: I have been helping people with their finances for 26 years. As a partner at Smith & Wardle, I am renowned for my technical knowledge of investments and trusts. I often work closely with solicitors and accountants to provide investment, pension, inheritance tax and estate planning advice to clients at all stages of life. I started my career at Lloyds Bank in 1993, providing generational financial advice to clients; many of whom are still my clients today! I moved to J Rothschild Assurance in 1998 and started to develop an interest in Inheritance Tax mitigation and trust work. Due to my expertise in trust work, I often work with multiple generations of the same family; advising grandparents, parents and children and allowing a deep understanding of each family’s needs and wishes to be built. I particularly enjoy the variety of my job. No two days are the same! My favourite moments are when clients who are confused about their finances or uninterested in the process become engaged and start to understand their situation. We're a very friendly bunch at Smith and Wardle, something our clients really value.
