Over 30 years ago, needed advise on investing monies on behalf of mother-in-law following her sale of bungalow and move into sheltered accommodation.

Arthur's advise for using a Distribution Fund has proved very worthwhile, and is still a good continuing investment

To invest a lump sum to obtain sufficient growth to give me the income I seek for my retirement.

Arthur discussed a variety of options that would suit my future needs and risk profile and I feel he gave me proper independent advice. I feel I made better decisions from understanding the risks and benefits of property v. investment fund and increasing my pension pot. Despite my relatively modest investment, I am taken seriously. Arthur anticipated many of my questions ahead of my first annual review and so despite my funds performance at the current time, I am confident he is helping me to make good decisions for my future financial security.

I've only had the investment for 18 months which has been a volatile market time but I had good advice about my options.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My husband retired and had a fairly large pension fund to invest in the late 90’s. Arthur Childs had been previously chosen as local Financial Adviser of the Year so we contacted him, and he advised the Prudential instead of Equitable Life, which proved a safer option, and we have been with him ever since.

He has managed our financial affairs since then, recommending a portfolio of investments to minimise risk, a regular income for me that would not be taxed and used ISAs and other investments to minimise our tax bill.
