I was offered a retirement package that involved a transfer out of an existing company pension, I needed the advice of a financial investor to help me make the correct decision of whether I should take the offer or leave it where it was, to provide a guaranteed income for the remaining years of our lives. I was recommended Angela by a friend and have no regrets whatever at going with that decision.

Yes and more, I am now able to drawdown a sufficient income to live on, on an annual basis, from Angela's investments and still find my investment funds increasing on an annual basis thus future proofing my investments to ensure we have enough income for care needs and medical help as we get older. Angela and her team keep us well informed of any changes to the investments and at our annual review recommends any new investments we should be making and cashing any investments that have not performed as expected over the past year or so.

With Angela and her team behind her I find it very hard to find any thing that they could have done better with my investments.

My accountant at that time, many years ago, recommended APC to look after our financial planning. We were then one of Angela Proctor's first clients and since, then, we have placed complete trust in her advice. My grandfather was working with Angela and the my parents started to work with Angela and then I had never heard reasons to not trust what was happening for them. So I wanted to invest and keep ISAs and chose Angela based on this.

She's explained and managed my ISAs/investments; has assisted me in understanding the state of my private pensions; has assisted me in my process of purchasing a property, such as advising on critical illness insurance and more informal chit chat to make sure I'm comfortable with the decisions I'm making.

Due to the nature of investing, I am not interested in measuring the outcome at the moment as it's something that I'm interested in a longer term outlook. Therefore, I don't have a necessarily negative opinion on it. More so neutral to positive, as I see it as part of the process.

What could they have done better?

I don't know what else is available, so it'd be tough to talk about anything they are capable of doing better. If I had to think of an example, I would like to hear more guidance about what to do with extra cash that I don't necessarily want to put into my pension but also can't put into ISAs due to the ISAs being maxed.

My only “suggestion” would be to possibly offer some advice for those clients with rental properties in their portfolio. For example, how to structure, such that capital gains tax is not such an issue? That said, Angela is fantastic and capital gains tax is just something I have become more aware of during the UK election campaigning.
