What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was already retired and while my wife was still working she would also within a few years. We had invested in several pension schemes and ISAs but we didn't have a good understanding of where we really stood financially ahead of full retirement. Throw into the mix our two sons and it was clear we needed some good level of financial planning.

Richard analysed our entire financial position along with our goals for retirement and our sons' inheritance. We discussed and ascertained our accepted level of risk for investments. Richard made recommendations for investment consolidation for the pensions and ISAs as well as for inheritance planning. He presented how our financial position would fair in the future with stress testing also.

Yes, we're most happy now to fully understand our financial position now and going forward. We feel secure with our investments and inheritance planning. We meet with Richard 6 monthly (or sooner if required) to fully review our financial position. Also Richard has been most responsive on any requests we've made.

Richard was recommended to me by a friend and ex-colleague. I found Richard to be really approachable and helpful and he took the time to get to know me and my husband at the initial meeting. Richard took me through the various options available to me and explained everything in a way that was understandable to me. All in all I came away from my initial meeting with Richard feeling less daunted about our financial future and that help is available.

I had an advisor for many years without realising their high charges and determined that their advice was just not there. It was everything is ok so no need for change ..

I honestly cannot praise Richard Johnston highly enough. He quickly reorganised my pension / savings for the benefit of my pocket AND long term investment.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Indeed and am delighted with the results. Enough to now have my wife involved with Richard Johnston.

What could they have done better?

One can always hope for a better return. At the end of the day this is dependent on how well a pension company invests your money. Richard Johnston has hit the mark.

Four years to retirement and I needed help in understanding if my pensions and savings strategy was the correct one. Also needed to discuss overall estate.

The initial advice to set me off on the right path is invaluable to me. I have confidence in this plan now and is something I can further work on, with Richard's help, as requred.
