I was into my late 50's and had a number of workplace pension schemes. I had also married again and moved house a few times so I had lost track of some of them and they had lost track of me.

How has Matthew Hignett helped you?

Matt advised me what to consolidate and what to leave in place. He explained how it all tied together and how it dovetailed with the state pension schemes. He helped me locate who to contact to advise them of my latest address. He explained what Beaumont would do and what my options were very clearly. Even though my schemes are worth a lot less than many of the clients he deals with I got the impression he gives the same level of service, respect, courtesy and consideration whomever you are. In addition, if you have other queries e.g. retirement possibilities and scenarios, he will answer them quickly and in full.

I expected a phone call from Matthew in Chester but got a call from “Ryan” from Beaumont Wealth in Oswestry. Once I’d identified him, Ryan arranged for me to see “Nia” in Chester. I felt I was being handed around with no explanation being offered as to why. I’d never heard of Nia and have no idea of her credentials and have yet to hear her recommendations for me. I’m not feeling confident about investing with this outfit at the moment.

If I'm in appointments, client managers will often make an initial call to see where the best availability lies and ensure we get any initial queries dealt with as soon as possible. This is also the case where there is limited availability to get your enquiry dealt with in the quickest possible timeframe. In your case, you spoke to Ryan initially to chat through your current situation and then Nia, another Beaumont Chester based adviser, had appointments available at an earlier opportunity. This should have been explained to you more fully at the time and I always offer to see and meet clients directly if this situation arises and they would rather deal with me directly. I had several pensions with different providers and cash ISA's and savings accounts that were paying very little interest. Wanted an unbiased opinion on what my options were and how best to get my money working for me.
