After my concerns about about performance of an ISA during a 'bear market - Covid', it was agreed the ISA could be transferred out to a Cash ISA After due diligence a new SIPP / RIA provider has been chosen I am now seeing the outcome I was hoping for.

What could they have done better?

The markets were affected by the global Covid pandemic and Ukraine War. On hindsight I wish a stocks & shares ISA had been transferred sooner.

Not sure how we finished up with CFA, but we have been with them for a number of years, and they have managed our affairs well. We get a good review once a year, but they are happy to advise whenever help is needed.

Well, the markets have affected returns which is a little unfortunate, but there is little control over that, and everyone will be in the same boat.

Obviously with the unforeseen global problems the growth has not been as high as I had hoped for. However the growth actually achieved was completely in line with reasonable results, perhaps slightly better than I though possible given the Pandemic, Ukrainian invasion and other difficulties.

The primary focus was around pension management which was well executed. There is no hard sell on other services, but people might not be aware of other opportunities. Discussed these with Andy but a regular flow of marketing material would bring some of these things to the fore

Advice and options explained very clearly and professionally. I had a very very basic understanding of how finance works and I left feeling more confident with my future plans

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

A pension lump sum to invest.

After initially establishing my attitude to risk, Andrew explained how the money would be invested. During each annual review he explains, in depth, what is happening to my investment and the reasons for it.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

To date, the returns have not been as high as I initially expected but this has been due to many economic factors which influence investment. Andrew explained that this is a long term investment and, of course, at any time the value can go down as well as up.

What could they have done better?

I don’t believe that there is anything that could have been done better. As far as I am aware Andrew has made every effort, on my behalf, to ensure that my investment receives the best return possible.
