What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Decided to leave employment of multi-national company and work in the market place on a self-employed basis. Needed advice and guidance on transfer of pension funds and the set up of a private fund to ensure income upon retirement provided a good standard of living.

I have been retired now for 14 years and continue to follow my interests in travelling, memberships to V&A, RHS, socialising with friends, supporting family and contributing towards Humanitarian Appeals the latter being very important to me.

Yes, My pension investment has increased in value which along with the pension drawdown gives us a good standard of living in retirement.

What could they have done better?

No Andrew could not have done anything better as he took the time to discuss and explain the best options for our pension, keeping tax to a minimum and ensuring our savings were tailored to suit our attitude to risk.

I had various pensions that needed looking at to ensure that I get the best for the future.

It is a work in progress as I am nearing retirement but I am happy with when has been done to date.

We were unhappy with the non proactive management and the cost of our investments with Coutts. We seemed to be asking for what we expected them to offer. We had come into contact with Andy through a pension scheme at work.

After discussing our views on investing and our future requirements, Andy took over the management of our investments. He has been everything that our previous management were not. He has been very proactive on our pension arrangements and over the years advised on moving products and providers to take advantage of changes in legislation and allowances.

Over 15 yrs ago it was to help in the selection of new pension provider. Since then Andrew has regularly reviewed with me my pension plans, performance of pension provider etc.
