I retired January 2017. In addition to UK State Pension, two UK Final Salary Defined Benefit Pensions, and a monthly French State Pension and a French Defined Benefit Pension (I had worked in France for twelve years), I had also four years of private pension pot (when I had gone independent, and 10 years of Defined Contributions pot to consolidate and manage, with progressive draw down in mind. I needed a pension adviser.

Yes. In fact, better than expected. MLP have continuously grown the pension pot invested. Plus they guided me through the crystallised/ uncrystallised 25% tax free / 75% taxable draw down. I had my initial review and then annual reviews, any MLP facilitated initially ad hoc draw downs and now monthly fixed drawdowns, preparing all the paper work for signature. (I have access to the MLP web site with my account and I am - apparently - able to sign electronically using "DocuSign" - but the MLP office is only ten minutes away and I prefer to sign paper document, and MLZp is quite happy for me to do so and prepares and prints out all documents to be signed including the customer copy.

What could they have done better?

I can't think of anything they could do better. Professional, welcoming and friendly people Paul, James and a big hi to Claire. An iconic office and conference room, Banstead High Street, with easy parking. Good clear advice to someone who is more engineering than financially literate.

I was going through a Right to Buy application and needed advise on the mortgage lenders I had available for my specific case.

James helps me find the right lender for the very tricky scenario. My mother and I successfully applied for the RTB however the monthly cost offered to me by my previous mortgages advisor were to expensive, this was due to my mother age (56) and the cap limited by lenders. James however, found a new avenue which allowed for a longer Mortgage length. He found a lender who only took my income into consider and therefore extending the length of my mortgage by an extra 10 year and thus allowing me to afford the monthly repayments.
