Equity Release is actually quite straightforward once you know it but we needed expert advice and guidance to begin with

Yes indeed. Once we got started there was no stopping us. I say “us” as my wife and I always felt part of a team, not just customers or clients.

What could they have done better?

I note that there is a photograph of Struan on this feedback system. It’s nice to have a picture of who you spend considerable time with on the phone. Perhaps consider a similar photograph sent with initial contact email.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an equity release adviser?

We were looking for an Equity release scheme against our house to replace kitchen and bedroom soft furnishings, plus an available fund to replace the car in the future. We approached Aviva as one of the market leaders who arranged a meeting with Struan. Struan was extremely helpful and very patient ensuring we understood the process including risks, the interest etc.

How has Struan Mackenzie helped you?

Struan explained the options and that he can only advise on the Aviva Equity release option. He ensured we understood the process and included our niece in all discussions.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are currently awaiting an offer following completion of the condition survey/valuation.

What could they have done better?

Nothing, we are very satisfied with all advice given.

To raise funding for a new purchase.

From the start Struan put both myself and my wife at ease, we were nervous at the beginning of the process. Through all of the process Struan put us completely at ease. Fully explaining each stage and asking us to stop him if we had a question or needed more prompting. He brought the whole process to a level we could fully understand. Over all, the experience was satisfying and friendly both my wife and myself would highly recommend Struan for any future business any one may have need of his services. A five star service was provided at all levels.

Straun has at all times been responsive and approachable to any requests or queries and dealt with these very promptly and efficiently, This enabled us to progress through the stages of Equity Release ensuring that we understood the products on offer and the reason why these processes are in place. Due to his very clear explanation of the plans and reasons for the stages it enabled us to fully grasp the complete process and any risks that may be involved , review our finances and our needs for the future. We would highly recommend him to anyone requiring Financial Advice.
