The team has grown and I rarely feel the need to contact Sam directly these days. My feeling is that the basics get done without a fuss, and when you need to ask advice, they are responsive and knowledgeable!

My experience was not actually with Sam but someone from his office. Iftikar Ahmed was the person who helped me. Very nice, punctual, clear communication and helpful.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Wasn't happy with our in house accountant.

Overhauled our systems and processed and helped us utilise our accountancy software efficicently.

Yes, we are happy with the outcome.

What could they have done better?

Could occasionally be more consistent with timings but Sam is always available if there are emergency issues which is very valuable.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I was not satisfied with the previous accountant, as in my opinion an accountant should be well organised, has good knowledge, able to quick problem solving and communicate well!

How has Samuel Troy helped you?

Immensely! My view of Samuel goes beyond the accountant he is. He has an incredible knowledge about his job, whenever I need him it is very easy to reach, always solve problems quickly, he is creative, also a great communicator and pay attention to details. For me an accountant is not someone who only does your tax return, VAT returns, business account, etc, but equally should be someone who is able to add value and help to improve your business, and Samuel has done that so far for my business.

Yes, I am very satisfied with the service I have.

What could they have done better?

I think they surpass my expectations and there is nothing I would say they should have done better, as the service is great in all areas.

We actually work with his business partner Alec White. Alec and the team have help us get set up and continue to support us with day to day running and business planning.

It’s been a very stress free process and the team are always on hand to help when we need them.

It’s early days so so far it’s all working really well.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

We were looking for a firm of accountants that would offer a broader range of business services, beyond simply preparing the year end accounts

How has Samuel Troy helped you?

Samuel and his team were very helpful in assisting with the preparation of financial budgets and forecasts that we used to raise finance and have been using as a tool to manage our performance. We also had some quite specific VAT requirements and needed to set up a new company and Connected Accounting were really prompt and professional.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We are continuing to use the planning tools Sam has provided and we have really benefitted from the bookkeeping processes and training provided.

What could they have done better?

There is little Connected Accounting could have done better; we found they offered a good balance of face to face meetings and video conferencing which was very convenient for us.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Previous accountants rarely met with us and didn't really understand our business

I'm am completely new and inexperienced in business but have had clear and efficient advice from Samuel and his team. I have no gut feeling of disappointment so far.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I was new to working as a sole trader and was given great advice.

He offered me sensible advice and practical guidance to enable me to capture correct information to complete my tax return in future.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I was a small start up business and whilst I was keeping receipts and information in spreadsheets I knew that at some point I was going to have to submit my accounts and do not have the time or knowledge to this confidently.

How has Samuel Troy helped you?

Sam introduced me to Xero, explained the benefits of VAT registration and we agreed a monthly plan to spread the cost so that there were no unexpected bills.

So far YES - In all aspects.

Nothing, Sam is always responsive to any query or Question that I had / have.

Needed assistance with running all my accounts.

Sam took the time to meet me to understand my business and then he was able to suggest ways he could support me. Sam is very big on technology and makes the accountancy part of my business run so smoothly I don’t need to think about it!.

Yes - Sam is efficient, always on hand to ask silly questions to and is clear and methodical.

At the moment, Sam is meeting all my needs so I don’t have any suggestions at this stage

Initially time and solid advice, followed shortly but practical help setting up the company and then operating the business accounts.

I guess the only thing would be to open up some other methods of communication (for instance, something like instant messaging, Skype for business or similar)

Decided to look for new accountant.

Sam has been brilliant - he has taken the time to really understand our organisation, he works incredibly hard to support us and he delivers a high quality service.

We now have an accurate financial reporting system which informs business planning. We also have a detailed short, medium and long term budget forecast which enables us to make better decisions and prioritise our work.

Sam has been a godsend since the beginning! He and his team at Connected Accounting make everything so simple and easy and they take all the hard work out of the financial side of running my business. They are always approachable, knowledgable, reliable and I really enjoy working with them.

Absolutely. I don't have to worry about the financial side of things - I know it is in good hands and I trust it will be for many years to come.

Need the full range of accounting services, including VAT, payroll, pension admin, etc.

Yes. I moved to Sam because I wanted a fixed price for all services and I wanted to be able to ask questions at any time without incurring extra fees. He put together a package for me and it has worked well.
