What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

What could they have done better?

There isn’t anything the Chloe could do better. Chloe let’s me know about things we can think about in the future to maximise tax efficiency and I let her know when I am ready to take up the things she has told me about.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

I had received notice that my Tax Return and Corporation Tax for my start-up business was due; this was at the end of my first year of trading and I was unsure how to do it correctly.

How has Chloe Hawkins helped you?

Chloe listened to my business model and approximate figures. As a start-up business with a small turnover (given first year of trading) some accountants I had contacted were rather dismissive (if not rude). Chloe however was the opposite, giving me reassurance, advice and happy to take me on as a client. She is always quick to respond to queries, extremely approachable, professional and polite and is already helping me with ways to grow my business.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes but in all honesty, better than I had hoped for. Chloe shows a genuine interest in helping me with my business needs.

What could they have done better?

!!! Nothing! Chloe has taken a huge weight off my shoulders and I have every confidence in her.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an accountant?

Undeclared Rental property income, unpaid HMRC tax going back several years.

How has Chloe Hawkins helped you?

During the initial meeting we outlined our concerns regarding undeclared rental property income. Clearly we understood tax from this income was owed to HMRC. Chloe was able to give us some indication as to likely penalties involved as she had undertaken this work for other clients. She asked for all relevant documentation and undertook tax returns for those years in arrears.

Firstly to correct the under payment of HMRC taxation. To ensure that all aspects of income for the missing tax returns were evaluated by an independent professional accountant. We were given guidance and explanation of various aspects of taxation. Clearly there are many facets to accurately completing a tax return. Understanding what is claimable as an legitimate expense and allowances. When all things considered there were some over payments as well as under payments. The final outcome was lower financially than our guesstimates.

What could they have done better?

We were very happy with the services provided. The outstanding HMRC arrears have been paid in full

We were unhappy with our previous accountant who we felt did not communicate with us throughout the year and seemed to find any question we had as a hindrance, we therefore wanted to find someone who could offer us better service.

Chloe finally set us up as a limited company (after asking our previous accountant about this for years). She helped to answer our questions and look after forecasting and projections for us to help grow our business and improve our personal financial situation also.
